Thursday 14 March |  16:30 - 19:00

Our award-winning family law team is a pioneer at the forefront of many emerging areas of law. Now, we’re proud to invite you to join the regional launch event for the Centre for Individual and Family Identity (CIFI).

This event will be your opportunity to learn about CIFI and discuss current opportunities and challenges within law related to donor conception and surrogacy.

Whether you’re a lawyer, mental health professional, social worker, teacher, ART specialist, medical practitioner or academic — all are welcome and we hope to see you there.

An introduction to CIFI

CIFI is a non-profit, innovative, interdisciplinary and recently established clinical psychology-led service founded by Dr Sharon Pettle — a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Family Psychotherapist, as well as an expert witness and trainer.

CIFI is a specialist provider of:

  • Therapeutic services informed by systemic family therapy approaches, which offer consultations by experienced clinicians to anyone impacted by identity issues in the field of donor-conceived families and surrogacy.
  • Groups and workshops for families who have chosen to be open about the origins of their children or want to explore what this might mean for them.
  • Interdisciplinary training and consultation for professionals and others to increase awareness, understanding and sensitivity towards all those involved in building families in this way — whether in health settings, schools, social care or the tertiary sector — both in the UK and internationally.

We're delighted to lend our support to CIFI as a valuable community resource that could benefit many of our clients with families built by donor conception, ART or surrogacy.
